WHAT WE DO AND WHY
Turning Interest into Action
Here at Botswana School Project, we support teachers and students in Botswana to enable them to improve the quality of education for children in primary schools - grades first through seventh. We believe that starting with the youngest students, we can help teachers to create a deep and meaningful foundation for the years of education ahead of them.
We focus on a STEAM approach to learning: science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. As educators, we believe that reading and writing form the foundation for all learning. We are strong advocates that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind, and so physical activity is important in a well rounded educational program. We also believe that the needs of all children must be met including those with special needs.
Our Board is composed of experts in various areas who inform and help guide us as we make decisions regarding our choices and the direction of our organization. We also reach out for guidance to others who excel in different areas of education.

WAYS WE HELP
The Focus of Our Efforts
EDUCATION
Anything we purchase must be related to what is taught.
Before we purchase anything, we ask teachers what they need for their school and students. They prioritize their list and then we purchase items according to our budget. We never purchase anything not requested or related to their program. That has always been a fundamental decision of our organization.
FUNDRAISING
Our money comes to us in the following ways:
Support from a grant through the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu
